We enjoyed watching the baby birds hatch and grow. We were so careful to use our garage door to go in and out of the house. She would fly away every time someone came to the front door.
Unfortunately, one night it was so windy the next morning we found that the nest tipped over and those sweet babies fell to their death.
We didn't have the heart to tell Cassidy what really happened. So we just told her the baby birds went to a better place. It was so sad. The birds didn't even have all their feathers yet. But for the time we did have to watch them it was a neat experience.
I wonder if their mom was the bird that pooped on our car??? It wasn't our fault. :(

What a beautiful story, Leonard Bernstein. Get the audience hooked with cute pictures, music, and hope -- then hit 'em with brutal reality.
Otherwise, it was a great opportunity for Cassidy to see wild birds up close and personal. Like a live National Geographic show.
I'm with Derek ... what a misleading introduction to a dastardly finish! I'm devastated!
My mom had a similar thing happen and she made me "take care of" the poor baby bird that didn't make it. So sad to see "nature" in that way. Cool pics though!
That is a sad ending, but cool to see the birds! I enjoyed all your pics of the cruise. THat boat looked so cool! I wish we could see you guys again sometime.
